As an athlete, Ontario Equestrian supports your journey at every level by providing access to a wide range of competitions and programs.
Equestrian Skills Development competitions (ESD) are horse shows that are approved and sanctioned by Ontario Equestrian at an entry/schooling level.
Bronze competitions are horse shows and events that are approved and sanctioned by Ontario Equestrian and Equestrian Canada at a local or regional level, where both horses and riders can learn to compete.
Silver competitions are provincial competitions and events sanctioned by Ontario Equestrian and Equestrian Canada where more experienced athletes can challenge their skills against a wider field of athletes.
Gold competitions are approved and sanctioned by Equestrian Canada at a national level. Athletes at Gold level competitions have developed competitive skills.

Dressage & Para DressaGe
Along with provincial leaderboards and awards for all levels of sanctioned competition held across the province, Ontario Dressage members can access clinics and bursaries.
Eventing
Becoming a member of the Ontario Eventing Association allows you to compete at EC Sanctioned Horse Trials, be eligible for year-end awards and register for clinics.
Hunter & JumpER
If you are competing at Gold Hunter / Jumper shows in Ontario, you will need an OHJA membership to be eligible to collect points and be included on their year-end leaderboards.
Do You Have GRIT?
GRIT is targeted at podium-bound athletes, ages 13-27, with successful competition experience, whose goal is to represent Ontario in one of Equestrian Canada’s National Team programs.
