ESD Show Sanctioning General Guidelines
The Ontario Equestrian Skills Development show guidelines provide competition managers, exhibitors, coaches and owners with established show recommendations that promote sportsmanship, horsemanship
and fellowship among adults and encourage participation by young riders in a controlled and structured show environment.
ESD Competition Organizer Forms
Equestrian Skills Development competitions (ESD) are horse shows that are approved and sanctioned by Ontario Equestrian at an entry/schooling level. The forms a competition organizer needs to host a competition are included here.
Delivering Rookie Riders
Rookie Riders is a program for young children that provides an opportunity to experience the joy of the equestrian sport in a fun-filled program. Stables with trained coaches can deliver this program teaching activities and skills that are fundamental to success in horseback riding.
Coach Education
Coaches in Ontario have a variety of options for education, including working with mentors in cohorts, online training, in-person education and training through our provincial and national coaching partners.
EC Coach Status
The EC Coach Status program is part of a collective commitment to safety for human and equine athletes and excellence in instruction and coaching, setting standards for earning and maintaining coaching designations to help protect athletes, coaches, and our industry.
Certification Maintenance
Instructors and Coaches are required to engage in lifelong learning and sharing within the coaching community, and engage in professional development programs to maintain their active status with the NCCP and Equestrian Canada.
